One Heart, Two Homes: A Look at What Children of Co-parents Need to Grow and Thrive!
The church can be a haven of help and hope by offering relevant resources to parents, grandparents and volunteers who work with children and families. Children of divorce need stable homes with healthy co-parents as they come and go between mom's house and dad's house. We will look at the five categories of co-parenting and their impact on kids, the six risks for children of divorce, how to handle the "hand-off" and ten things kids of divorce wish they could tell their co-parents.

Empowering the Single Parent
It is hard to know what to say to someone who has just been through the trauma of divorce, death of a spouse or unplanned pregnancy. Sometimes we avoid these situations because we don't want to be misunderstood or seen as condoning difficult life decisions. The truth is, this is when families need us the most. This is the time to magnify the opportunity hidden in brokenness and guide them towards transformation.

When the Children Come to Church But the Parents Don't
Is your ministry filled with students and children who come to church without their parents? Pastor and professor Timothy Paul Jones has spent more than two decades in urban contexts, ministering in circumstances where most students and children come from unchurched homes. In this session, Dr. Jones will provide you and your staff with the encouragement and guidance that you need to reach spiritual orphans and their parents.

The Picture Frames Are Different But Single Parents and Step Parents Are Families Too
For many parents, the family portrait has been broken or reorganized. When kids live between mom's and dad's houses separately, their ability to stay engaged at church is strained. Compassionate leaders can be strategic in being sure kids, single parents and step parents find a safe place to continue building Godly community with other believers. We will discuss blind spots, new norms, challenges, solutions and impactful ideas on how to engage with multiple family systems and types.
